Twenty six years after a windsurfing honeymoon on Tyree I have found a Benny F285 to hang my hat.

Granny's taken the huff and asked for a transfer.

General specification
Approx Dimensions; LOA - 23ft 4 (7.14m), LWL 20ft 4 (6.2m) Beam 8ft 2 (2.5m),
Draft 2ft 2 – 5ft 9 (0.66 – 1.75m) (Plate up - down) Displacement 1240kg (2,800 lbs)
Ballast 360kg (810lb)

Z-Spar mast, boom and solid boom vang.
Plastimo 608 furling gear, serviced 2012.
Engine –Yamaha 6hp Two Stroke outboard with new 10 ltr separate fuel tank.
Swing centre-plate (mechanism serviced June 2009 including new brass nut).
Trailer – 4 wheel SBS galvanised trailer with brakes. (Tows with BMW X3 2ltr)

Inventory. New in 2012:
a) Sail plan and cockpit fittings
• Quality Dacron sails by Goacher Sails. Fully battened mainsail.
• Standing rigging.
• Running Rigging, reefing, lazy jacks and sheets.
• Bowsprit. (for genacker in excellent condition)
• Harken st 20 self tailing sheet winches.
• Mainsheet and rigid boom vang blocks by Harken.
• Cockpit cushions and dodgers by Goacher Sails.

b) Instruments
• Tacktick wireless wind indicator system, depth and speed instruments.
• VHF DFC wireless and aerial.
• NASA led tricolour and anchor lights.

c) Below decks
• Origo gimballed 2 burner spirit stove with pan holders.
• Cold water system with flexible tank, water purifier and Whale Ripper galley pump.

c) Other specifications
• Four berths (2 x double) in rear cabin and saloon.
• Galley with storage, 2 burner stove, ice box, sink, fire blanket and powder extinguisher.
• Separate nav. station with chart table and light, switchboards, Tacktick distribution
boards,VHF dfc wireless and battery storage locker.
• Head (in nav. Station) converted from sea unit to Portaloo for lake use.
• Yamaha outboard, serviced in spring 2012 by Storrar Marine.
• Swim ladder.
• Anchor and warps, fenders, dock lines, horseshoe life buoy, boat hook, etc.

“Granny’s Yacht” has been exclusively sailed in the Lake District and has had only 4 owners from new.

Documentation includes original builder’s certificate and VAT invoice and manuals.

Independent surveyor’s report of July 2010 is available.
