That's a nice looking 235 at Crowsnest. I was thinking about another one . . .
Cheers,

I should be the next owner. This boat is going to Quebec city, Canada. Final inspection and 48 hours drive total has to be made before I present her to the rest of the family.
Thank you David, it is really nice dealing with you on this. See you pretty soon to finalize this transaction! |

Patrick,
Great news! Enjoy and stay active.
I think this is the (soon to be) 4th 235 transacted in the last year in Minneapolis, with a net loss of one hull to the area.
I sold Jackdaw into Colorado: -1
I bought a 235 in WI and sold it to daveM (plucker) on WBL: +1
This boat to Canada -1
One other that will trade hands locally as another owner moves up: 0
I miss the days when there was three on little Lake Harriet... _________________ Clay Babcock

I echo Clay's welcome and hope you join the fray here. Nothing more exciting than getting your new F235 finally out on the water that first time.
Clay, you wont believe this, but we used to have no less than ELEVEN FIRST 235 on Lake Norman outside of Charlotte, NC. That is craziness. Unfortunately, you rarely saw more than one or two at one time, and many were purchases from way early, leaving the beasts on the hard or at dock more often than not after the years added up. Sadly, Pt II, I think there are only a few left there.
It's amazing how many First 235 have gone to Canada, though. Since I started this site, I think Canada has taken quite a few across the border, with hardly any returning this way.
We have three First 235 in this area but only ONE actively sailing off Wrightsville Beach at this time. _________________ Kelly Holsten abstrait

There is many more First 235 for sale in the States and price are more affordable. Since the us and can dollar are about the same, traveling is more attractive than buying locally if you don't mind driving 48 hours from Quebec to Minessota with a proper tow vehicule... Nice road trip + a sailboat to care. The First 235 is a sailboat I am looking since 3 years now... I kicked my butt to do the move and I can't wait to meet David and complete the transaction so I can update my facebook profile with: "New owner of a First 235"...
Thank you for your welcome! |

I bring the boat back with a Toyota Highlander 4 cyl., 2x4, with trans oil cooler, trailer sway bar and bring it back without problem. Wasn't able to do more than 65 miles per hour and was pretty slow in the Wisconsin with many hills (45 miles per hour). Many tough that was'nt possible but did it and it was a 1700 miles drive to bring it back.... Got the wheel of the trailer balanced to stop the shaking on my way and be able to drive faster than 50 miles per hours. |
