Isn't there some sort of legal dilemma using a picture of someone else's boat with out paying said person royalties of some sort? If it where my boat i would be a little upset. _________________ '88 - Wing - Hull #140 |

No. He put a disclaimer on it. There was a recent (ok last 5 yrs) court case, I'll dig up the news article, where a picture hosting company sold a girls picture to an anti-acne medication company. They put her pimply face on a giant billboard, and used it in print and electronic media. The understandably mortified tennaged girl sued, and lost. Flickr, photobucket, tinypic (I think), and the rest of them have that little box you click that says you've read and agree with the legals... read them some time. Most of these companies can do whatever they like with your image once it's on their servers.
That's a bit of a tangent, but the point I'm making is that once you out something out there, unless you copywrite it, it's out there. That's waht so scary (for parents) about kids putting images of themselves out there. You never know where or how it will show up.

i don't put many pictures up where I don't own the server. Then I link them if i use them other places such as the forum here. though.. if kelly didn't have storage and bandwidth issue with this site I would almost rather upload them to the site here. less chance of stuff changing and posts ending up without pictures down the road. _________________ Scott Carle

Wow. This has to be the first First235 I've seen on eBay that has the orgininal Manual de Proprietare complete with canvas briefcase. _________________ Jeannette

The auction closed with one winning bid at $7K, didn't get the $9K he wanted - don't think he canceled the auction early. Based on the posted pictures, it needed the liner & windows redone. It had a 15 HP motor. |

Sorry this boat is gone from my lake. At one time last year we had 8 or 9 of the 235s at Clinton Lake near Lawrence, Kan. Counting this one, at least two have been sold and another is on the market (unless it also has been sold). There is another lake about 30 miles away that has at least 2-3 other 235s-- and many of us have the original documentation.
The Captain's Shop in Lawrence, Kan. (Now out of business) sold more 235s than any other single dealer in the country in the early 1990s. Thus the proliferation of 235s in the Lawrence and Topeka,Kan., area and Kansas City. _________________ 1990 - Freelance - wk - #351 |
