As much as I don't want to do this, recent events have forced me to put Sovereign on the market.

A 1991 wing keel currently on Lake Norman in North Carolina, "Sovereign" has less than 400 lifetime miles under her keel. New in November 2005: main and jib halyards, traveler lines, bottom paint (Interlux Bottomkote), graphics. Her main is well-used, the jib slightly less so, and the 155% genoa has only been flown twice. I have a Hood Seafurl roller furling system that has not been installed.

Her interior is in great shape, with the exception of a few water spots under the formerly-leaking cabin windows and the typical sagging headliner. (Sagging, not fallen.) Her Nissan 9.9hp 2-stroke outboard is exceptionally clean. She has Autohelm Tridata instrumentation, a never used Magma stern-mount gas grill and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Michael Quigley and Pat Turner have both sailed Sovereign. Ask them about her, or email me here or at pastortom@surfbest.net or call me at 828-312-2750.

TOM!!! What are you doing? Man, I thought you were towing the beast to Hickory! Hope everything is ok over there. I just went through Hickory last week and thought about you.

It's time to sell her. With very little additional work or investment, someone out there can have the nicest 235 anywhere.....ask Quigster or Pat T. They've sailed her with me....

First $10,000 takes her.

She's worth more, but you guys know how she came my way. So I don't have to hold out for absolutely top dollar.

Michael, I've emailed with Jay already.

We've spoken,

My wife and I are discussing. We had initially decided on purchasing a boat which we could put a little sweat equity into. But we're discussing it.

You need to post some shots of your F235, Tom.

Pictures are on the way. In the meantime, there are a few shots of Sovereign at the thread titled "Lake Norman N.C. trip"

That's because when he is right, he is right and in this case he is right. Whoever buys Sovereign is going to get a great deal!

I know you are going to miss Sovereign and this place won't be the same without you---so please don't leave us!

I have no plans to leave the forum. What would you guys do without my spiritual leadership?

I got an email from a forum member in Chicago who was worried that my sudden decision to sell Sovereign was due to a crisis in my life. She didn't offer to buy the boat, but offered to pray for whatever was making the sale of Sovereign necessary.

How cool is that!!

Well, my friend, I'd consider buying your boat, but I already have a boat hooked and we are just working out interstate details.

Gosh ... it'd be something to go from owning no 235s to owning 2 of them just in the space of a month! :)

That's great news. I hope you take delivery soon so you can get some sailing time in. Please understand that by living in the South, not only do I think the South will rise again, but that all sailing North of Virginia stops in September.

Details! What boat? Wing or fin? Name? When?

Yep, Kupe had one nice F235.... Good to see you hanging around, too.

And Pastor Tom's going to be sorry he let Sovereign go.

You got that right brother! I might not have a boat- and only half a job- but at least I got this motley group!! :)

Glad to be here (beats the alternative),

I'm already sorry, but life throws you curves sometimes.

Wish I could keep her, but I'm sure my beneteau235.com friends will keep me sailing long after she's gone...

Apologies! Finally getting back to you, Sue NoLogic.
I should not try to read the forum at the office .... I get a call or someone stops by to see me and then I forget where I was reading a thread.
Perhaps once I have the actual boat, my discipline in keeping work/ forum/ and sailing separate will be better.
I have bought Jon's boat, of Indian Head Lake Ohio. We are making arrangements for it's trip from Ohio to Chicago, hence the trailer chat on the other threads.
After pondering axles, tow weight, tongue weight, and hitches I wish I could just sail it home through the Michigan Canal.

Go ahead and give up now trying to keep work, sailing and this forum separate.

You'll find that this forum is addictive....I used it in a sermon recently.

Yes, and we'll be taking up a love offering for you next Sunday.

But you have to pick it up in person. Wearing the stars and stripes shoes.
