Gee, it is both sad and exciting this F235 is heading across the pond for a new home.
Dirk, I do hope you stay with us and keep us updated on the adventures of your F235.
Jon, I'm sorry that the F235 didn't work out for you. I hope you stick around and let us know about your boating ventures. |

Dirk,
What port do you want the boat shipped to? Have you made any calls on your end? I have called several and they are getting back to me. I don't have enough info on you to be any help.

Dirk,
It is pretty easy, you need to call this guy and he will tell you what you need to do.
ATI USA Forwarder
Contact: Racardo
Phone# 908-351-3661
They need to talk to you, before the ball gets rolling. It seems that is the case with everyone I have talked with. They want to speak with you not me. If I had more info I would be more help. |

Jon Goslee,
would be great If you can tell me theSWIFT Code of your bank, it will make transfer more smoothly an safer, because there can be no misunderstandings that the right bank gets the money.
To save transfer fees I could tranfer the whole amount in one deal, what do you think? I imagine I can trust you :-)
Is the boat in or out of the water? will contact some shipping companies today, also the one Jon told us.

Some advice to ye olde Dirk and Blacksheep: Although it's flattering to see the forum used with such trust, I would problaby continue most of the specifics of the boat deal via email.
Hope it works out. Some kudos go to ole Blacksheep for attempting an overseas deal as it's not always the easiest to execute from this end, surely far more complicated than someone just taking the boat off one's hands as is customary with most deals.
Dirk, you're going to have to jump through some hoops to get this done. As for the trailer, there have been some leads here and there but accomplishing this from overseas is going to be tough. There is always the option of the cradle for shipping. You need to talk to the shipping co about the details. Regardless, it's going to be some work getting this whole deal executed. A trailer might be cheaper here than in EU as well.
Would be interesting to document so keep us informed on the progress. WE have one boat documented in the directory that was shipped from the US to EU (hull #133, now in DEN).

No problem! I dont think you are misusing the forum at all. I was just thinking more on the lines of specifics you might want to keep between the two of you that might be better served in email or phone calls.
As for the link to the page, it's the F235 Directory - look for hull #133 in US and EU sections. Dont know of any way to contact the owner - his name is Svend Madsen (in DEN).

Well, there you go! I would contact him on the best way to accomplish this transaction as he must surely know the pros and cons of the various options he used. _________________ Kelly Holsten abstrait

I'm going to hold onto it for a bit incase I can't get a boat with a trailer. Are you really in Germany? How much does it cost to bring a boat over there?

How long should I wait to get paid before a deal goes sour? I have e-mailed over a half of dozen trailer manufactors to the winning bidder and made over a 2 dozen phone calls for transport for him. At this point I feel like I have my hands tied. I have been asked to order a trailer for the boat I sold, but I have not been paid for the boat yet. It has been 6 weeks and still no movement of the boat.
I also thought the boat would have been moved, so I could have rented the dock it is sitting at for $1200 for the rest of the season. The sad part is the boat is just sitting because no one owns it at this point. What should I do?
The trailer company says it takes 6 weeks to build a trailer that is pushing it towards the end of the season. I just don't want the boat sitting there come OCT.
I have had many interested in the boat since the end of the auction but have turned them away because, I have a deposit on the boat.
HELP! How long should one wait before a deal is considered sour when you have a persons deposit? HELP!
Should I move the boat and use it even with a deposit on it?
I could have rented the slip the boat is at now for $1200 and paid $875 at lake where the boat would have worked.
sorry for such the long post but what is a guy to do? I just want to do what is right. |

The terms on the e-bay listing are clear, "full payment in 7 days".
It seems you have bent over backwards trying to get the deal done, If it were me I would send back the money less any expenses and move on!
If the guy wasn't intelligent enough to look into shipping before bidding, I don't think he is intelligent enough to get the deal done. He didn't even have a clue as to how much it would cost!
Of course I also am interested in the boat so I have an alterior motive :-)
Please pm me if you decide to move on.

I am looking for a F235 but I think it would cost a ton to ship this boat to The City. Do you have any idea what type of charges I would be looking at?
