Too many irons in too many fires has left our beloved F235 under used the past number of years. I cannot justify keeping it when it deserves a new owner who has the time to use it and upgrade it. This is a golden opportunity for someone looking to get decent F235 at an entry level price. The hull, and interior are in decent shape, not Bristol, but pretty good for a 1987 boat. The price reflects the fact that the boat has seen little upgrades over the years ( i.e. sails and rigging ) ; however it has been maintained and in good shape. It is ready for water now and has been sailed every year. There are upgrades that a new owner could do over time to spread the cost.

The boat is located in Southport Island, Maine. Buyer will need to come and get it. Possibly have a brake job done on trailer before moving, or have a big truck like a F250/F350 were the truck can do all the braking.

Here is an honest assessment of the condition of the boat:
The Hull and gelcoat are in good shape. There are a few gelcoat cracks and marks here and there as can be expected for a 1987 boat. It cleans up nice with a coat of wax.
I stripped off all the bottom paint down to the gelcoat about 7 years ago, no blisters, I coated the bottom with VC TAR ( an epoxy barrier coat ).
The interior head liner was replaced with carpet and it looks good; the carpet complements the boat. I have saved the original vinyl headliner, if wanted.
The interior wood is pretty good, a few little water stains here and there, esp. low near the bilge from the previous owners.
The main and working jib are original ( as far as I know, I purchased the boat 10 years ago and although not explicitly stated, the sails seemed original then ). I sail the boat with these sails every year, they could use upgrading obviously; however, you could sail them now.
It has a roller furler for the jib.
I have purchased a 135% Doyle genoa about 7 years ago, this sail has not even been hoisted 10 times. We moved the boat right after we purchased this sail to the to the coast of Maine where the wind always blows enough for the working jib, this sail is essentially new.
The traveler is original.
The running rigging has not been replaced since I've owned the boat; however it's in good working order.
The standing rigging - I replaced the upper shrouds 6 years ago, the lowers are the ones that came with the boat when I bought it.
I replaced the depth sounder and transducer 7 years ago.
The head and sink are original. The head works and is in working order. The sink works; however, it is not pretty.
I replaced the fresh water bladder about 7 years ago; however, I have never filled it with water, so it is essentially new.
I replaced the battery last year.
The outboard is a Johnson 9.9 short shaft, circa 2000. It runs like a champ, the paint on the cover is faded and chipped some, but this doesn't affect the performance.
The hand rails and hatch boards are due for some varnish or cetol.
The trailer is a steel Triad custom built for the F235; it's a float off tailer with extension tongue. I purchased the trailer, used, separately from the boat. I put new brakes on it 7 years ago; however, sadly it needs a brake job, I'm not sure they work, I have not needed to trailer the boat in 6 years since it's been kept at a boatyard and lifted in and out for the past 6 years. The trailer being steel has some rust and needs periodic maintenance in the form of wire brush and rustoleum.
The aft cabin carpet is original and serviceable; however could use replacing, some stains, etc..
The original alcohol stove works and has new wicks.
The side port lights have some cracks as is typical of this model boat and year. They are caulked with silicon so they don't leak; however they could use replacing. They are a couple hundred ordered from the Beneteau site and day to install them. Or you could have them fabricated for less as others have done.
The electronics are original and working; running lights, cabin lights, etc..
The rudder pintle bushings and rudder bolts were replaced 7 years ago or so.
The cockpit bilge pump rubber is split and needs replacing. Last year I purchased a new replacement bilge pump, but have not installed it yet.
There is a mainsail cover in good shape.
There is no spinnaker; the boat comes with a spinnaker pole from a Lightning sailboat, I use it as a whisker pole.
There is the usual paraphernalia that you find with a boat: extendable mooring gaff, bumpers, dock lines, life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc..

This pic is few years ago, boat is the same except cabin strip decals have been removed, they were cracked up and faded.

The rest of the pictures are from Sunday 4/24/11. The boat is fresh out of winter hibernation ans will clean up nicely with a little elbow grease.
