I couldn't find her on Sailing Texas. I've had my Catalina on there. Although I havn't had many contacts throught the site, it works great for posting the link to other places, especially craigslist. I post on craigslist about once a week and get most of the traffic through there. Also its about $10 to post to ebay, but if you sell her there it's $125. You can always list the reserve for a little higher and pass it off to the buyer if it sells that way. Traveller looks like a really nice boat! Good Luck

It went up this morning, and includes a few pics in the cabin:

One guy even called me at 9AM this morning after seeing the ad!

Is your boat still for sail? What is the condition of the interior.

I've created an new on-line ad for Traveller with more/better pictures:
http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/14525
I've been steadily upgrading the boat in the last few weeks: installed new lights and wiring on the trailer last week.
Next, the hull and keel will be professionally repainted with VC17m antifouling. I've been putting that off because it's expensive and will drive my asking price up.

Nice add Neal, I need to do that too. Did you also list on Sailing Texas?

Yes I did:
http://www.sailingtexas.com/sbeneteau235103.html
but I think many people assume that site is only for boats in TX so they don't even look. Also, you can't upload as many pics at SailingTexas as at the new site I've used:

I'm trying the spread the word without paying for my ads.
I just posted an ad on Craigs List - don't know why I didn't think of that before!
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/boa/1391064575.html
I'm really tempted to put her back in the water and just go sailing. The problem is that TVA will drop our water level 5 feet in ~5 weeks time for winter. After then, I can't get the boat out at our club's ramps and I would have to motor about 3 hours downstream to a deep enough ramp!

Traveller is currently under contract. A couple came down from Montreal to see the boat on the weekend. We agreed on a price and they paid a deposit. However, if the balance due is not received by Oct 24, the boat will be back on the market on Monday, Oct 26.

What is it with these boats migrating to Canada??? Mine is going to Quebec.

If you look at the asking prices in Canada and the US for exactly the same boat, they are about 20-25% higher in Canada, which is good motivation for Canadians to look south for a boat - especially if willing to go all the way to the SE quadrant, where boats are about the cheapest in all of the US.

Traveller's new owners live in Quebec, but are not French-Canadians (one is an ex-pat Kiwi). However, I did get an email late last week from a Quebec French-Canadian who was very interested in the boat. I think you're right - the French-connection effect is a part of the boat's appeal in Canada (in Que in particular).

Also, I think Canadians prefer higher quality products, even if over-priced, over the more 'common' brands and styles, almost regardless of what they are buying. It's why the WalMart-type stores don't do so well there.

The financials were finalized last week, and the shipper will pick up Traveller on Monday. I'll try to remember to take a couple 'departure' pics.

Ole Traveller leaving his old digs, Neil saying a sad goodbye...

Almost the best I've seen her look, too. New owner must have been excited.
