Would have been nice had they spent a few hours cleaning the boat up a bit before taking pictures. I don't understand why people don't put out a little effort. A good showing and a clean boat surely sell one quicker at a higher price.

I agree, just the dirt alone(not to mention the dumb idea of a solar vent on the rear fixed port) will knock thousands off the price.

Thousands? Man, I was expecting some horror but I've seen a heck of a lot worse, even on Yacht World. I agree that's it's amazing when people dont even pick up the interior, leaving a complete mess, something you see often, usually when a dealer is doing photos. I've learned to see past it but you still shake your head wondering why. This boat could have used a quick going over but not too bad from this end. That rear port vent would have to go, necessitating a new piece, which is not that expensive or hard a mod. Many have chosen the opening version though I still prefer the cockpit option. The one good thing about ebay is the boat usually is sold in a week, if not always for the best price, seller-wise. Still, sometimes people just want to avoid the "showing it 10 times over" headache. Appears ole Art Olive is going through that very nightmare.

Thousands was difference with the purchase of PANDORA, she was pristine under all the dirt but I knocked $2900 off the asking price just for the dirt & bought her. 2hr scrub when we got home & she was worth $2900 over the asking price, sure there are people who wont dicker with price but not me.

Hello all -- been lurking here for about a month. I've decided F235 is the boat I want, still convincing the wife that she wants one. She thinks we should have a lake house first. I say, a slip and this boat would be a great to scout out where we want to be.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has seen this boat in person?

Thanks. Clint

And many more not crazy enough to knock off close to $3000 for a boat in need of a two hour wash, that is, unless it was overpriced to begin with. Think that's a rarity. The range of prices for a First 235 are all over the place and a few years ago, 7-8k was common with some less, some more, not often distinguished by boat condition as much as region and timing and need/availability. Needless to say, there were, and still are deals out there...

But the prices of the F235 has definitely been on the rise for a good sample, especially if with trailer making it easier for buyers to purchase from farther afield. The great thing about this boat is even one that needs work is still a better deal than many others boats of more dubious pedigree. Besides a few minor issues this beast is perhaps one of the most overbuilt boats around, especially compared to the others in this category. What a huge difference.

What a top notch rationale, if it works. Heh... Welcome to the Forums, Clint. Perhaps someone has seen this boat and will pipe in. We have a few members from FL that hop on here quite often.

The point I'm trying to get across is,

Know what you are willing to spend. Cash is the best method, nothing like the smell of green backs to motivate a seller.

Know what you need to spend to make it the way you want.

Don't be wishy washy with the seller. Be firm!

Don't get into the back and forth crap. Make your offer the next day.

I will admit it is hard to not get excited about such a boat, but patience is your key to JOY!!!!

What kind of Hull ID numer is 'B39582274920' anyway? It's not a known Hull ID format for either US-made or French-made F235s. If anyone finds out, please let me know. It cannot be hull #395 because that would be a 1990 boat (this is a 1988 boat). It cannot be #227 or #274 because we have had those hulls in the database for some time. However, I have never seen the current hull name (M2=KE) before so it's likely a boat we haven't had contact with before.

Wow, that's some water damage by the nav station. I guess it can be cleaned up though.

Interesting placement for the solar vent on the rear window. I did not know that could work on a vertical surface. Personally though, this is worse than making an opening portlight in the aft birth. Those vents can never be closed.

Also, notice the ditched ladder with the cooler storage option as the "first monster step." That's a helluva cooler, too.

I find a good portion of the F235s for sale have some sort of discoloration on the lower edges of the various bulkheads. It's a common problem from leaking left unattended. You sometimes see some discoloration on the starboard side of the interior table from leaking water, pooling from the slight starboard list.

Looks to be in reasonably good shape, except for the above noted discrepancies. Too bad it's all the way up in the panhandle or I would take a drive to go see it. Unfortunately, it is in the same state but still 8 hours away. Yep, no one gets to South Florida on accident.
