Regrettably, Windependent is for Sale

1989 Beneteau First 235 (hull number 253) wing keel in spectacular cruising condition. She is nearly like new, almost perfect on the outside and is gorgeous inside with all amenities.

Why would i ever do this? I was approached by the owner of a larger boat who wanted to sell fast - And I want to cruise distant shores. I had wanted to keep Windependent to go back to later but the quick nature of the proposed sale does not allow me the time to find and buy a trailer, establish a storage plan and so forth.

Windependent is lying in Maryland Marina, Slip 503, in Middle River, Md.

Price: $12,900

See Windependent Sale Page for details and plenty of photos:

http://www.beneteau235.com/f235_listings/89_f235_maryland/

Please contact me via page info or through the forums. Thanks!

Bummer. Cant imagine you not owning the F235. Your probably the forum mainstay in many ways. Going to be different now.... might have to make a special F285 section to keep ole Mike and felines involved.

So you liked the F285, eh?

Say it aint so. Still thought you should wait for the next step up but guess the offer got too good to resist.

the 285 is very much a supersized 235. i'm not going anywhere. i'm on the 235 forum and i have metastasized. i don't think you can cut me out anymore. just consider me the odd man out.

just like normal.

A supersized F235 with a different designer and different hull shape! heh...

What version of keel does this beast have?

Yeah, F235 or F285, you're going to have to stay, regardless. You're just going to have to start doing TWO versions of each mod, now.

Better prepare Thomas. I wouldnt even TELL Maggie.

Mike,
I'm happy for you, I guess. I will say that we looked at a lot of boats before we decided on a 235. The lack of "Super Sizing" is what attracted us to the boat. The incredible design inside, while still being small enough to tow and maintain. Good luck with the new vessle, and should someone on Lake Ontario (or in the area) contact you...tell 'm that tha Brothers'll help 'em move it (trailer), and maybe get her launched the first time!!

Man, I think I secretly want the deal to fall through as I still cant imagine you not owning ye olde F235.

Did you ever get up with the guy that owned one on Lake Norman?

I'm really considering adding an F285 section to the site if you come up with enough info and data. Judging by the great work you did with the 235, it's not hard to imagine.

Heh.... That post was an editing nightmare. Every sentence had something amok.

As for the F2385, I was thinking of the 285 after Thomas, Maggie, Zippurr, and Roxie got a hold of it...

Mike,

Very interested in boat. Bit like you potential speed of buying puts me in a pinch (How to get it to Sandwich Ma. Where to store it when I get there).

So -do you know if your boatyrd has dry storage space where, potentially I could store for Winter) while I arrange the necessaries in Mass.

This is perhaps one of the nicest F235 around, possibly the most modified for comfort and ease of use of any (with only competition being Canada's Atalante, which isnt for sale).

Mike has really made this a great boat, perfectly maintained and cared for. It's worth every bit of the asking price and more if you ask me. I'm biased a bit but not much. I've posted pics, pages, articles, and info on this boat since the forums started, and I feel like I know it more than most. And Mike's one of the best here (hell, I was up for making a page for his new boat so he'll stay...heh).

I'm sure he can work something out.

Hard to believe, but ole Windependent really is officially for sale. I must stress that this is an excellent F235 owned by one of the diehard forum members and original www.beneteau235.com contributors. He has about as many mod articles as three people combined! The boat is pretty impeccable from the top of the woodwork to the bottom of the brand new keel bolts (which he replaced only to shore up the grounding contact, amazingly enough). Oh yeah, he redid the keel last year, too.

Now Mike & Toni's F235 is slipped in Maryland Marina waiting for her next voyage with new owners.

I have been tirelessly working the local crowd into the thoughts of OD racing on a weekly basis, I still offer my trailer & a loan on a cradle for those in my area who would buy.

i am very grateful. the power in this forum is nothing short of awesome.

there is a fellow in toronto that was interested, but for a need to transport . i told him something could possibly be worked out. hopefully he is still mulling it over.

Remember your wacky experience with the 285 owner. Make it easy to buy, at least as much as possible. That boat now has ads all over the net.

Adding a possible trailer available for move might help.
