Dave - there are a couple of 281's available East Coast...search on Yachtworld.com

Very similar to the 285 but without as much as a headlining issue....

Just a thought for your consideration.....

Thanks. I have been looking at those as well. You bought a 281 didn't you? How do you like it? I find the 285 a better looking boat, I wonder how performance compares. As you mention though, the issues are much less with the 281, particularly where the headliner is concerned.

I have a nice 285 that I am refitting. Will be launching in about 3 weeks. New standing rigging, new running rigging, keel sealed and faired, Iterlux bottom job, headliner being replaced.
