I just heard a rumor that there is a 285 for sail local to me that is in excellent shape and they are asking around 10 grand... I think it's the same one I looked at a year or so ago and they were asking 28,000. They also have slip for sale for 20,000 according to rumor...

you could probably call Mariners point marina in Little River, SC and get the dockmaster to get the owners to call if you interested. They should be on the internet.

Posting says 27 hp but it sure looks like a 2002 volvo penta to me, 18 hp. But man it looks like a dandy. Good location too. But I bet there are a lot of boats and condos for sale in the myrtle beach area. Someone will get a great deal, but I feel for the folks that have to sell at fire sale prices.....damn economy....

housing market here is hosed... I talked to a guy that just bought a duplex within walking distance of the beach if I get the story right for mid 70,000's
just unbelievable... same thing was probably selling for 300,000 a couple years ago.

Wish the housing market was hosed in Charleston...heh. I guess things are relative as prices are down but lordy.

VERY nice First 285 for the lowest I've seen if that's the case. Of course, name removal would be first goal on that beast but looks really clean.

Price is rumor only...

its kinda like the boat before valkyr that I tried to buy.. I was told he was selling for 5000 and I got there and he said 10,000.... ended up offering 8,200 and he agreed.. Then he drug his heals and didn't want to complete the deal till I just walked away. I figure he got a better offer right after he agreed to my offer.

Charleston would rock to live there as far as the city and the bay... crime rates are through the roof though.
