I've completely enjoyed this boat and have wonderful memories, but it is time to move to a more capable and comfortable cruiser. I expect to retire in a year and spend substantial time sailing the Chesapeake Bay and beyond ... so, the time has come to sell Pye - one of the last built.
The link will take you to the relevant information and photo gallery. http://PYE430.googlepages.com/ ...any help spreading the word will be appreciated! Prices are always negotiable <G>

Barring surprizes, I will settle on a Catalina 30, (shoal draft, tall rig) the end of the month - survey and sea trial is set for next week, weather permitting.

Jimm,

I have to ask...why is the note in your full specs in a greek font? I copied and pasted it into MS Word and it revelaed its meaning: Upgraded items in bold type. Or maybe its just my browser playing tricks on me...

Otherwise, beautiful boat and ad!

Same thing happened when my daughter opened the link == apparently since it was created in Foxfire - I'll try to fix, thanks!

Hopefully she will have found a new home by then - perhaps someone would like to buy her an take her there? --- I know she'd enjoy it!!

Just for fun - here are a few pix of Pye's successor:

Autoplot (X-5) and chartplotter to be added ..

Electric windlass in anchor locker

Oven is spotless - doesn't look like it had ever been used

JUST KIDDING, maybe next time <G>

The more things change. The more they stay the same. I know I have heard this before?

Ignoring the standard advice of never owning more than one boat - the Catalina 30 sale is confirmed and awaits only exchange of paper. I guess I can hang out here at least until Pye is sold [motivation rising :-) ]. She is now advertised in the local sailing sheet and on BoatUS and will be moved to a brokerage yard in Annapolis next weekend with 'for sale' sign. Ready for an early Spring sale!!

A caution re: posting for sale on the web: I received a query from a Bradley Stone in London [per his email] who express a desire to buy Pye immediately - after an exchange or two I was suspicious and pressed him for details -- he has not responded to the last email. I would not have replied in any event. Not clear what the 'scam' might have been, but he was anxious for me to tell him where to send his money. Poor grammer in the messages only added to the concern, which was supported by my bank's security folks. Seems a shame we now have to operate from a position of distrust - didn't used to be the case.

Oh yeah the last two boats i have sold i recieved checks in the mail offers for double what i was asking, all sorts of stuff. It would be hard to scam me i guess cause i need to see cash before i give away my boat. I took checks in was told they where fakes called the guy and told him not to waste his time picking the boat up. He says oh ok. Wierd that the police didn't care but as soon as i go 7 over i get a ticket.

Just a reminder she's still for sale - price adjusted to $16,900 and an allowance for bottom paint since she's due and has been out of the water since late fall. She's on a yard in Annapolis. With warmer and sunny weekends coming, we're hoping she'll find a good home soon!

Just a reminder.......as storage costs begin to rise there's more motivation to negotiate --- serious offers considered. Will deliver within 500 miles.
