Yep, that's Jon Teunis' boat, Migration, hull #442. He was a slip over from Mike's F285, seen in the background of the first shot. He's a member here as well.

yep. jon must have recently moved to B dock (maybe anticipating getting a bigger boat?). a couple weeks ago there was a catalina 3o in that slip. _________________ Mike Hayden

Does it have a J24 keel? Anyone know what it sails like with that keel? |

Looks like the price has been slashed recently due some blistering issues. It could be a real bargain for someone handy with fiberglass repairs. _________________ Hugh Caldwell

A good deal, the materials may cost you 200-300 at the most.
Messy work though. _________________ 1992 Wing Hull #421 |

i can't comment on the keel, but jabins is a beneteau dealer and generally does first class work. they are well regarded around here. _________________ Mike Hayden

I'm surprised he does not promote that J-24 keel mod more heavily. I would imagine this might intrigue some except for the obvious loss of some of the shallow water gunkholing fun. That's the only First 235 I'm aware of with a J-24 keel. There are only 3-4 known boats with lead fin keels, the 4th just a rumor. _________________ Kelly Holsten abstrait

Any idea what this keel will do to the PHRF numbers? _________________ Michael Cotton

I am the lucky new owner of migration. The final sale will be completed this weekend.
What I need is help from the Cheseake group in finding a place to get it on the hard for the winter. What I am looking for is a place that hopefully allows me to do work on the boat. I am also looking for advice on a trailer. Once I get it on the hard I can take dimensions for the trailer.
Eventually I want to move the boat to PA and keep her at a lake near my house. The trailer will need to be setup to lauch and retreave the boat since there is no lift at the lake.
I also have a Com-Pac 19 II and a sweet little Holder 20. _________________ MATT2 |

Matt - cheapest I can find in this area is this marina / boatyard - very much set up for the DIY'er and I have heard good things about them, although I have never personally used them.

Good luck !

Welcome Matthew;
I believe the closest 235 to you is "Wind in Her Hair" on Lake Hoptacong in New Jersey. Owned by Sarah McElroy, hull #216.
Which lake are you planning on? _________________ Jeannette

matt,
if you are looking for something a little further up the bay, i have had good service from Oak Harbor Marina in rock creek off the patapsco, and even further north, Maryland Marina in frog mortar creek, middle river.
oak harbor takes about an hour to motor to from where migration currently is, and maryland marina would take about 3 hours.
my boat is slipped in the same marina where migration currently is. if you need info or something locally let me know.
with the season drawing to a close, when you get hauled out now will determine when you can be launched in the spring because of the way they pack the boats. be sure to tell them about your intent to trailer it in the spring or they may block you in. _________________ Mike Hayden
