Yet another BF235 I didn't buy. More pics available at:

These are from last fall. My guess is the same owner. I don't think he had it in the water this year. _________________ Regards, Phil |

Those darned leaking windows have ruined the panelling in many F235s! Once a few inches of water gets in ans sits for a little while, the staining is irreversible - it's a shame. _________________ Neil Quigley

I wouldn't blame just the windows, If you have ever seen the boat in cold water you would see how bad the hull sweats. I always figured that was the main cause. _________________ Jon

I always thought it was the windows/skylight, at least enough to accumalate enough water to cause this staining, something that is seen in many an F235. Thankfully, most of the time it's only cosmetic, but it can be pretty unsightly. Mine is afflicted as well, this definitely from the leaking windows. I keep my boat in the water all winter and havent noticed the sweating bad enough to pool. But something else to keep in mind. Seems most of the guys in chillywack water remove for the cold season, though. _________________ <font face="century gothic" size="1">Kelly Holsten <i>abstrait</i>

well i'm not in the coldest area in the world, but it does get cold enough to freeze you in place around here. i leave mine in all year round. i have never noticed any sweating except when i am on board and several people are adding moisture below from the breath and activity and cooking. i have never had it accumulate enough to even wipe it up. _________________ Mike Hayden

well good ole LO just turned over last week due to upwelling & the near shore water temps dropped to 43 chilly ass degrees, this all while the air temp is still in the 80's & 90's. Guess what that spells? sweating & lots of it. last Thursday I sponged up over a quart just at the bottom of the steps.
I have the staining & it is not from window leaks, I replaced the original gaskets & they where not leaking(yet). I am sure standing water will cause the same effect but not in Pandora's case. _________________ Jon

man. that's another reason not to live above 40N. all our condensation is from dripping beer cans and it easily managed.
come on down to the land of pleasant living.

not really a big deal here, the lake temp is on the rise again already, & the offshore temp is still around 70. Upwelling effects don't last too long. _________________ Jon

Well we had a para-hurricane/tornado in Chicago on Thursday; the culmination of a very swampy week and half. The atmosphere was full of water and then several inches dropped from the sky on Thursday.
Before heading out on Friday we had to mop up.
The standing water in the bottom was to be expected, but I was surprised by the outer wall of the quarterberth. It had streams of sweat running down it, just like the face of a boxer. Everything in the quarterberth was saturated and the whole boat smelled pretty gamey.
Nothing a little Fabuloso in lavender flavor couldn't take of, though. _________________ Jeannette

It's been a year since I looked at her, but I'd attribute the condition to neglect. I doubt she was grounded or sunk. _________________ Regards, Phil |

Lest we forget -- Pye is still on the market <g> and all she needs is new bottom paint! Tell your friends, price negotiable ... at least within reason.

Did you notice on the pegasus ad he classifies the boat in VERY GOOD condition. Did someone go through and clean her up or is this another case of when you get there you see something different. _________________ '88 - Wing - Hull #140 |
