The Broker for this boat, Di hickman, emailed to give me the hull ID# for Mignon so we can add her to the European F235 Directory.
She has a trailer and seems to be in good condition, seems like sail inventory is good (incl spinnaker).
Is anyone shopping in the UK??

I see there is a Jeaneau Tonic for sale there too - I wonder why it's so much cheaper - must not be same quality of boat as the F235. I've never seen a Tonic, but the write-up I saw on it was quite favorable:

Yep, you're right. I know Minuet is for sale too and think I was hankering for a Filet Mignon while listening to a Minuet..... har.

au contrare ... that's a very demanding time of life ... what about the responsibility of carefully arranging all those Lego pieces into what everyone else regards as the consequence of entropy? ... what about having to scatter dirty clothes from one end of the house to the other, oh, and making sure that lots of different items of clothing get to be tried on in one average day (including kookie costumes when available)? No wonder they crash dead asleep right after an early dinner - they've been flat out solving the world's problems all day long.

There is a lonely Tonic in my marina. Looks much bulkier than our F235. The review I just translated (Kelly will post it soon) includes a comparison to the Tonic. Bottom line: Tonic is slightly more comfortable but is slower and doesn't sail as well.
If I find the time I'll translate the full Tonic review that was part of the same German Yacht magazine. But boy those German sailing terms are hard to unravel...

Indeed, the German review was interesting and I have to thank Idefix, aka Boudewijn, for the great job translating the reviews, first from French, and then German. IF he manages to do the rest of the Tonic portion, I'll add it as well.
Boudewijn hit it on the head. The Tonic is a rather ungainly beast and aesthetically from the outside, doesnt hold a candle to the F235, in my opinion. The huge portlight windshield doesnt help. Neither does it do as well on the water. Having the motor put in a well where it constantly drags in the water is another point. Where it surpasses the F235 is in the interior where it's more comfortable and larger with some different sacrifices.

There´s another german review about F235, Tonic 23 and Gib ´Sea 242:

It´s on Helia ´s homepage- with a quite pretty photo gallery, by the way.
The review is from 1987 by the leading german sailing magazine (Yacht). The result is the same: the Tonic 23 is more comfortable but it doens´t sail as well like F235, especially with more wind ...

The result is the same since that is the exact same review, the one I am referencing that Boudewijn translated. It will be up shortly. Mohr's site is linked on the links page and many of his boat photos are in the Desktop backgrounds page via the NEWS page here. Some nice shots, indeed.

The Tonic in my marina has an outboard mounted on the transom. Obviously the owner didn't like the well configuration. The German review mentions that the original well wasn't even properly sealed so water would enter the cockpit through the well when heeling.
