Abstrait Launch Day Arrives!

Just got rig semi-tuned and out for very first solo sail. Mike had jumped on Miss Carol, his 40ft Deadrise
to take these shots. The Catalina 22 Genoa did amazingly well. A bit loose on the luff but this works in light air.

A few days later...the First Night onboard anchored off Wrightsville

Perhaps one of the best sails of my life. This was Halloween Day, late afternoon, heading out for a few days of
perfect weather and sailing. Moments after this shot was taken, I was in the ocean off Masonboro with an amazing
sunset, porpoise all around, the water an orange hue. That evening, I sailed well after dark, making runs up and
down Banks Channel. I later anchored of Wrightsville, watched the full moon rise, and listened to jazz till 1am.
The next morning was 75F, and after a swim, I sailed over 40 miles in the ocean with 10knts and perfect conditions.
It was a few days I wont forget . . .
